In the paper we focus on three literary works for children and youth in Slovak translations. Cecil Bodker (Silas and the Black Mare, 1977; Slovak translation in 1979 [1]) represents Danish literature in this particular selection, Ivona Brezinova (Boy and the Dog, 2011; Slovak translation in 2011 [2]) represents Czech literature and Alan Marshall (I Can Jump Puddles, 1956; Slovak translation in 1978 [4]) is the sample of Australian literature.
