THE ANALYSIS OF MOTIVATION LEVEL OF EMPLOYEES
Abstract
People employed in an enterprise are its most important resource. They have unique knowledge and skills that they bring to the company thanks to their participation in the production process. These factors combined with predispositions for work, using appropriate methods of motivation, can be a source of competitive advantage for the company. The efficiency and effectiveness of the company's operations depends mainly on the employees of the organization and employed management, as well as the atmosphere at work, relations between employees and the flow of information. Therefore, it is a factor that is mainly decisive for differences between organizations. The elements that make up human capital in the organization are, above all, the competences of employees (including know-how), but also relations (ie the ability to share knowledge with others) and the values and effects of activities. However, the concept of human capital assumes that an employee in itself should not be treated as capital, and also points out that the mere employment of such an employee is not a guarantee that the company will succeed. Employees as competence owners themselves decide on the manner and scope of their use in the production plant. Competence-based human resources management involves the use of competences and analysis results in improving recruitment and selection processes, performance management, employee development and salary. Therefore, management plays an important role in all major activities related to human resources. However, employers and managers using the right motivational tools are able to encourage employees to use their potential. Motivating employees means such an impact on them, which results in higher effectiveness of work, and at the same time shaping the attitudes and behaviors of employees desired by the employer. The motivation process is personal: motivating someone to something. The aim of the study is to present the results of research carried out in one of the metal companies in Poland. The main analytic tool chosen by the authors was a questionnaire.
