The article is devoted to colour naming study of medicinal herbaceous plants in Russian and Kazakh languages. The fundamental principles of Russian and Kazakh scientists, dedicated to studying this issue, are presented in this work. Similarities and differences in color naming of the compared languages are revealed according to analysis, which indicate the importance of color naming in linguistic world view of two nations.
