Abstract

The idea for this paper sprang out from my own experience as a student. I once complained that a particular teacherВ’s lesson was too monotonous and I was left with a sad and frustrated feeling at the end of each lesson. The answer I received perplexed me: learning is not meant to be fun. Humor is international and a harmonious integration of humor into language teaching approaches not only does it have a positive effect on the learning environment, but it can also enhance language learnersВ’ skills, from a linguistic and cultural point of view.
