LANGUAGE PICTURE OF THE WORLD. TO THE PROBLEM OF DEFINITION.
Abstract
The article analyzes the approaches to the definition of the basic concept of intercultural communication "language picture of the world" from the perspective of different areas of linguistics, exploring the relationship of language and consciousness. As a problem field of research, definitions of the relationship between language and consciousness, developed in scientific paradigms of such areas of linguistics as psycholinguistics, linguoculturology and system linguistics, often acting as synonyms, namely, "language consciousness", "speech consciousness", "speech thinking"are given. Based on the interdisciplinary approach as the most important characteristic of the methodology of the subject of intercultural communication, the authors focus on the search for a definition of he linguistic picture of the world that best meets the pragmatic aspect of the term, tested and confirmed experimentally. According to the authors, the most complete reflection of social and cultural reality in the consciousness of a native speaker, that is, the linguistic picture of the world, which can be traced both on the grammatical material itself and taking into account external factors, is provided by system linguistics, the main directions of which were outlined by V. von Humboldt. In the domestic linguistics this direction is represented by the works of G. p. Melnikov, whose scientific school is developed by a number of research centers, including RUDN, where G. p. Melnikov taught and wrote the main works.
