SPECIAL ASPECTS OF MEDICAL DOCUMENTING TRANSLATION
Abstract
The paper deals with composition and register of medical documents and their peculiarities for translation teaching. Medical documents are built up by specific standards, including cliche and professional terminology. Medical documents are regarded as the manifestation of scientific and technical styles, and the crucial feature of such texts is standardization. The in-patient records are to be used to communicate a framework of patients and doctors, hospitals and healthcare. The present paper is aimed to analyze structure, lexical, syntactic differences in sentence patterns of in-patient records in both languages. Moreover, a future translator should be competent from the one hand, in genres and structure of translated documentation, from the other hand know how to compile it in a foreign language. Standardization of medical documents due to its numerous discrepancies in linguistic, stylistic and composition features is a challenge for the translator to implement certain stylistic alteration.
