Abstract

The socioeconomic development of a state is determined by the level of education and skills of a younger generation. Formation of students’ necessary professional competencies is the main task of a higher education system, which can be achieved by integrating two types of activities in learning process as scientific and educational. Currently, the importance of students’ research activity is increasing, it is becoming an integral element of the entire educational process in a higher education, an important component in training of specialists. Students’ research activities will not be successful without an interest in research [1]. In this paper, an individual theoretical analysis of the concepts of research, research activity, and research interest were found and identified the structural logical relationship between them as well as received the results of students survey. The results of student survey showed that students actively participate in scientific research. The research works at the university were carried out by 26.4% of students, 45.3% of them did not want to take part in research works. In addition, 28.3% of students wanted to be involved in research work of the university. In the given article, the relationship between the concepts of research, research activity, and research interest were determined. Research interest is an increase in the interest of an applicant, as a result of vigorous activity, an increase in his perseverance in achieving the goal and to ascertain the truth.
