The goal of the research is the content, style and specificity of historic monumental paintings in Orthodox churches in Vyatka (now the Kirov region) in Russia. Nowadays many of the villages with the churches are abandoned as people moved to the cities. The wall paintings are on the edge of disappearing both physically and from the realm of academic study.
