APPLICATION OF SYSTEMATIC THINKING IN TRAVEL SERVICE DESIGN IN CHINA BASED ON INDUSTRIAL DESIGN 4.0: BEIJING AS AN EXAMPLE

Abstract

Industry 4.0 is a concept which puts forward by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology at the Hannover Messe 2013. The German academic community believes that the "Industry 4.0" concept is the fourth industrial revolution dominated by intelligent manufacturing, or a revolutionary production method. The strategy aims to transform manufacturing into an intelligent enterprise by leveraging the combination of ICT and cyberspace virtual systems: Cyber-Physical System. In China, the using of service design is increasing, especially for the travel service design, for example like Didi, Ofo and Mobike, etc. We can see that China has also entered the era of service economy, in this background, the operation of enterprises in the service industry has become a new source of market profits. Service design will also become an integral part of service innovation and development. As Stefan Moritz said, “Service Design is not a new specialist design discipline. It is a new multi-disciplinary platform of expertise”, service design is a complex platform. In order to create a systematic concept or service, the service designers should use some new methods. In this paper, the basic theory of service design, design principles and framework processes, and specifically introduced the methods and tools involved in the design of various services will be summed up. This research will also explore the basic methods of travel service design from the perspective of system thinking in Beijing.
