LIFELONG EDUCATION - THE PROJECTED VISION OF THE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
Since the date of admission into the European Union, the Slovak Republic has been facing an obvious problem of both positive and negative changes within the labour market reorganization and functioning. Long-lasting trend of both decreasing population and increasing migration of human resources do reflect the conflict between demand and supply on local labor market, concerning also the qualification needs. However, despite of all serious consequences of this trend, the undoubtedly reason must be seen in the quality of national education system and the disparity between the needs and supply of the market. The ability to compete on the European market is directly related to existence of effective and flexible workforce within Slovak SMEs, which might be achieved by both qualification improvement and longlife education need. This aim might be supported by the European financial funds invested into the area of education or employment. We aim to prove the necessity of relevant human capital allocation in the area of under-developed regions including the potential use of the European financial support within Presov autonomy region.
