Abstract

Educational environment is the most important factor that affects student’s motivation, ambitions, and their emotional state. It can also be a detrimental factor to student’s persuasion of higher education and can demotivate students from staying in health care. [1]. This research paper used literature review to find studies that used Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM) questionnaire, which was developed by Sue Roff, to evaluate learning environment. [2] The questionnaire was translated into Czech, pilot study was conducted, and translation was modified accordingly. Evaluation of educational environment at the Faculty of Health Science University of Jan Evangelista Purkyne using DREEM questionnaire was conducted. Findings were compared to results from other universities and the DREEM questionnaire was assessed, and some necessary changes were proposed. Results: DREEM questionnaire is a valid tool for evaluation of educational environment, but is outdated, relies heavily on subjective emotions and the results can be very easily affected by the distributor. International comparison of educational environments must be done after thorough examination of research parameters.
