IMPACT OF EDUCATION ON UNEMPLOYMENT RATE
Abstract
Education represents one of the most powerful tools that a society can use for sustainable development. Nowadays, the role and the importance of education for individuals and society at large is continually growing. Some of the advantages that can be obtained through sound education processes can be as follows: we will be able reduce poverty, increase income, enhance economic growth, promote healthier lives, diminish fertility rates, reduce the prevalence of malnutrition, reduce maternal deaths, prevent HIV transmission, promote gender equality and last but not least we can reduce the unemployment rate. In European Union unemployment represents a key problem, due to the fact that 19.716 million men and women were unemployed by March 2017. The purpose of our research is to examine the impact of education on unemployment rate. In order to achieve the objectives of the research we use the literature review method and descriptive analysis as research methodology, together with data examined from Eurostat and National Institute of Statistics.
