ADAPTATION OF CAREER MATURITY INVENTORY-FORM C FOR HUNGARIAN SAMPLE LIVING IN TRANSYLVANIA
Abstract
There are only a few instruments related to career among the Hungarian sample from Transylvania. Moreover, instruments that assess career maturity are not available in Hungarian language. That is why the main purpose of the study was to translate and adapt Career Maturity Inventory form C for Hungarian students from Transylvania. In addition, the effects of gender and age on career maturity were examined. Both university students and high school students were assessed. During the Bachelor program, university students also struggle with uncertainty that is why they took part in the study. The age of the participants ranged from 15 to 26 (M=19.38, SD=2.05). The inventory was completed by 691 university and high school students. Findings show no significant differences between female and male participants. Regarding adaptation, the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) indicates an adequate fit. However, researchers and practitioners should use CMI carefully and take the current modifications and recommendations of this study into account. Limitations and further implications are discussed.
