BEHAVIOR-PATTERN-BASED SPACE DESIGN OF ART ACADEMY BUILDING – TAKING THE BUILDING OF ACADEMY OF ART & DESIGN, TSINGHUA UNIVERSITY AS AN EXAMPLE
Abstract
As the main users of a teaching building, the teachers and students have a relatively fixed behavior pattern, with which we should take as a start point to make a research on the building's space design. Taking the Building of Academy of Art and Design, Tsinghua University as an example, this article first discussed about the behavior patterns of the students and teachers working in this building, such as studying, communication and short relaxation, which will generate different space demands. Based on such points, this paper did an analysis on the space composition of this building, with some detailed studies of some devices. Finally, this paper sum up that it was designed according to the behavior patterns of the contemporary art college students and teachers.
