MODERN TRENDS AND PROSPECTS OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
As a universal communication tool the English language plays a key role in consolidating and unifying the world community into a sole, integrated information superpower. Due to this phenomenon the English language is extending its geography and implementation areas which include business and interpersonal interaction along with further computerized integration of international relations among various countries worldwide. All these processes condition the inner changes in the language system structure itself, impact additional structural linguistic layers, transition of functional styles into specific discourse kinds and genre style paradigms. The article analyzes the major trends in the English language performance, extralinguistic factors which influence the intrinsic language system, some innovations in grammar, vocabulary and stylistics. The chosen methods of research are, first of all, the method of studying and summarizing various theoretical calculations and regulations, principles and methods of cognitive linguistics, as well as comparative method. The author comes to the conclusion that the prognosis on the use of the English language as a lingua franca are questionable due to other language speakers exceeding. The results of the research may be implemented in the English language teaching methods correction, as the today practice doesn't take into account the up-to-day situation.
