Abstract

Even though at the first sight the representation and presentation seems to be almost the same thing, from the architectural point of view, there is a very important difference in between them, which has to be highlighted if a designer wants to create a unique brand new design and also wants to somehow introduce and †sell' it, too. By a quick search through the mostly known trustable dictionaries it can be said that the representation is an artistic likeness or image; a statement or account made to influence opinion or action; an incidental or collateral statement of fact on the faith of which a contract is entered into; or a dramatic production or performance, while the presentation means the act of presenting, or the act, power, or privilege especially of a patron of applying to the bishop or ordinary for instituting someone into a benefice. The logic of representation is a function of the concept of totality, in which every kind of human creation and, moreover, the whole of being is conceptualized as a static and transcendental totality. Consequently, according to this logic, the problem of any practice is the true representation of the given position and meaning of its layer of truth within the hierarchy of transcendental totality. If the true representation of eternal truth is the ideal condition, i.e. the utopia, then the obstacle obstructing utopia is the heretical and immanent events, i.e. the being as a living and fleeting becoming, in short the obstacle is the life itself. Optimism is the belief and the desire invested not only in the possibility but also in the necessity of the fulfillment of the temporary incompleteness and deprivation of the transcendental totality of being. Then, the question for the practices is to find out the pure forms of representation that would provide a non-illusionary medium to set apart the possible and the necessary from the impossible and the unnecessary. Moreover, even if it is accepted that the true representation of the transcendental totality of being, i.e. of the same, is an ideal limit impossible to achieve, the illusion of the forms of representation developing on a straight line towards the totality and the ascetic desire invested in that illusion cannot be left, for a wrong life cannot be lived truly.
