NATIONAL ATTACHMENT AND SOCIAL DISTANCE IN STUDENTS WITH DIFFERENT ETHNICITY IN MACEDONIA
Abstract
Psychological approach in the research of the inter ethnic relations increased, and takes central places in researches, especially among the middle that are multicultural. Taking into consideration the previously research for the existence of different types of nationally or different form of a national closeness Rot and Havelka are noted the existence of five forms of national closeness [1]: 1. Exceptional closeness national 2. Eminent national closeness 3.Increase reusable national closeness 4.The general (all human) national closeness 5. Lack of a national closeness According Pantic [1] at the beginnings of the establishment of national attitudes can be located at the time of the third to fifth year, and certainly before the seventh year, since from the age of seven years, respondents manifested national attitudes. Numerous investigations and researches which are conducted in the past in the our country and in around (in the former Yugoslavia) shows the constancy to manifesting and their stability in me the mutual connections of the between forms of national closeness. Also in these researches, forms of national closeness appear in relatively stable affiliation. Significantly positively associated forms of national orientation as well as the forms of non-national orientation, and negatively associated forms of national and non-national orientation. All theoretical consideration and knows in the conducted researches, especially in our country were the motive for the implementation of our research, where population consisted of students at SEE University, which is multilingual in the implementation of the teaching process and multicultural in its structure. Behavioral dimension to the prejudices traditionally is under the category of social distance. Taking into consideration of the above determination the problem of our research is “Do for various forms of a national closeness of the students exist and characteristic differences in amount and in their view of certain general social relationships in the social distance, or so that the form of national closeness occurs higher social distance and with which the form of the national closeness appears a greater degree of acceptance of the members of other nations in relation to the different social relations among the students at SEE University.
