SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS AND CONSUMER ATTITUDES ABOUT SUPERVISION AS A SERVICE
Abstract
The study is done because in Latvia supervision rapidly takes its place between professions recognized in the national level, becoming an integral part of professional components. As there is an increasing demand for supervisors, the aim of this study is to find out attitudes about the supervision service and consumer social representations. The main tasks of the research paper are to analyse scientific literature on supervision, consumer social representations and attitude towards supervision, create to gather data by using association method and survey, to interpret the data in order to establish social representations and attitude towards supervision. In the empirical part of the research the survey has been done and compared the differences of social representations and attitudes towards supervision of different samples. The conclusions indicate that in general consumers associate supervision with the support and help, and attitude towards supervision is positive. Most of the respondents have positive attitudes about supervision and respondents are interested in supervision and would like to try it.
