GENERAL AND PROFESSIONAL STRESS OF MOBILE AND OPERATIONAL STAFF OF PRIVATE SECURITY COMPANIES
Abstract
Emotional wellbeing during professional activity is the basis of psychological comfort at work and in life. Stress at work is an important problem because it affects the professional abilities, health of the staff, and the quality of their work. The European Union has issued a directive on the necessity of lowering work-related stress. Stress tolerance of mobile and operational staff of private security companies is becoming an acute issue. The following research question was formulated: Are there any differences between the manifestation of general and professional stress in mobile and operational staff of private security companies depending on age and length of employment? The following methods were applied: Stress Effects Complex Assessment Test (SECAT) and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS10). The following results were obtained during the study: Mobile and operational staff of private security companies have a high level of professional stress; moreover, at a younger age the stress level is higher than that of older staff. There is no statistically significant correlation between the level of stress effects and the age of mobile and operational staff of private security companies. With the increase of age, the level of stress effects tends to decrease. There is no statistically significant correlation between the level of stress effects and the professional experience of mobile and operational staff of private security companies. With the increase of professional experience, the level of stress effects tends to decrease.
