CONTRIBUTION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO LIFELONG DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL EXPERIENCE OF PERSONALITY
Abstract
The paper considers the importance of university studentsВ’ socialization via foreign language learning. Young people are destined to make their contribution to the society development at each stage of its progress. To fulfill this task younger generation has to inherit and enrich basic social and intellectual values and gains following the path of socialization. That is why the problem of the current state and the potential development trajectories of the studentsВ’ socialization in the educational process based on multi-faceted approach deserve close studying. The authors of the article pay assiduous attention to the definitions of agents and institutions of socialization. They focus on life cycles, pointing de-socialization and re-socialization of each stage. This study is designed to define a role of foreign language as the significant potential in the formation and development of socialization and to present the set of tools for creating language environment to form it. This paper rests upon recent reviews of the related literature in order to report new study that puts the individual experiences, empirical evidence, a study crossing research methods, dialogic, expert panel methods, advanced social research methods. The applied methods and approach resulted in finding indicators of social adaptation and internalization emphasizing the level of socialization. The authors focusing on aspects of studentsВ’ spiritual, mental, and physical development point out that one of the fundamental pedagogical principles is to choose the best methods of educational activities to form socialization. They pay special attention to significant potential of foreign language in the formation and development of socialization and present the set of tools to create a language environment to form it. The results of the research on socialization formation have been reflected in the textbooks produced by the Department of Foreign Languages in the sphere of Economics, Business and Finance (Kazan Federal University).
