THE POSSIBILITY OF EDUCATION FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE POSTMODERN AND POSTINDUSTRIAL AGE

Abstract

This paper analyzes the relationship between knowledge, education focused on competences and education for entrepreneurship as an imperative of an individual, social, and economic progress. By way of analyzing strategic national documents which pertain to the entrepreneurial competence within the educational system of the Republic of Croatia, the theoretical approach opens up possibilities of a more complete overview of the relations in which education and man should take center stage in the postmodern and postindustrial age. Furthermore, the notion of education for entrepreneurship is viewed from a theoretical and humanistic perspective, which was implemented into most strategic national documents which highlighted the impossibility to achieve the notion in the way that true education characteristic to man demands it. This paper offers an answer pointed towards a humanistic approach to education as a wholesome process turned towards man within which skills, traits, and values are assumed and education for entrepreneurship is an integral part of it. Finally, a different view of the idea of a postmodern and postindustrial way of looking at the notions important for the understanding of manВ’s condition of that time is given.
