THE IMPORTANCE OF PARAMETRIC TOUCH IN CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE
Abstract
Even though the term 'Parametric' originates from mathematics and refers to the use of certain parameters or variables that can be edited to manipulate or alter the end result of an equation or system, by a quick search through internet it is known that the parametric architectural design is a process based on algorithmic thinking that enables the expression of parameters and rules together to define and to encode and finally to clarify the relationship between architectural design intent and architectural design response. With another words it can be also decided as a paradigm in design where the relationship between parts of the main design are used to manipulate and inform the design of complex geometries and structures. In the conceptual design process of the contemporary architecture especially on the new examples made by the new architectural studios, it is seen that almost 2010's till today designers are creating parametrical spaces using digital programs such as Catia, Maya or Autodesk Dynamo more than before all around the world nowadays. Thus, the paper will not only be focused on the defined the parametric architectural design, but also while showing it's most important examples from all through the world, it will be discuss the importance of the parametric touch in the contemporary architecture.
