Abstract
The Faculty of Military Health Science is one of the three faculties of the University of Defense in the Czech Republic. This Faculty is responsible for education of medics, pharmacists, dentists and paramedics in the Army of the Czech Republic. During their educational program we have to connect two basic aspects of duty in armed forces – work as a member of healthcare service, professional healthcare worker contra work as a soldier, member of military professional armed units. These two disciplines are different and we have to make a fusion between this. This article describes how to prepare and educate students at the University of Defense, with focus on students of medicine study program. We try to show the way of combination of two main work aspects – healthcare, saving life and military science, the art of war. We have created a special study program for our students, when we teach the basic of tactics of military units with an upgrade of healthcare, all together as one complex. We have formulated three-step program for all students in the first three years of study. This program is really rare and special and is really important for preparation of military healthcare providers.
