LIGHT EXPERIMENTS IN RUSSIAN AVANGARD ART
Abstract
The article analyses the role of light in Russian avant-garde. Light, as the most important pictorial and expressive mean of art, is analyzed in the visual art of the beginning of the twentieth century. It is stressed that in Russian avant-garde light was revealed in a new way philosophically and technically. Much attention is given to the experiments with light undertaken by Michail Larionov, Natalya Goncharova, Vladimir Baranov-Rossine.
