The goal of the research is to present specific themes and subjects of church painting in Orthodox Vyatka (now Kirov region) in Russia. The specificities of Vyatka church paintings are connected with depiction of local saints such as St. Tryphon (1546–1612) and blissful St. Procopius of Vyatka (1578–1627).
