ASSESSMENT OF STUDENTS SATISFACTION BY TEACHING QUALITY

Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to study the degree of students' satisfaction by the quality of teaching the discipline “philosophy”. The research method was the survey. Introductory questionnaire allowed to clarify the expectations of students in relation to lectures and seminars, the qualities of the teacher and the role of philosophy in broadening their world view. The analysis of the final survey demonstrated an increase of students' interest in this subject, a high degree of satisfaction with the assimilation of the lecture material and the effectiveness of the work at the seminars. The processing of the collected material presented the students' opinion on the importance of philosophy for the development of practical skills and abilities of educational activity, personal and intellectual growth of students. The study determined a quantitative measure of subjective assessments of interest in the subject, the quality of teaching and the students' own abilities and efforts to assimilate the course material. The research revealed a number of differences between students of pedagogical and non-pedagogical training. In particular, for the latter, the possibility of improving occupational training through philosophy is less obvious than for future teachers. The results obtained in the survey were used to ameliorate the teaching of philosophy.
