PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF SENIOR PRESCHOOL CHILDREN BY MEANS OF LITERATURE IN MULTICULTURAL REGION
Abstract
Nowadays it is essential to bring up the countryВ’s patriots since the early childhood. The love for the country begins with the feeling of affection for the family, the house, the street, and the city. Once for all, literary works of the native land, mother's lullaby, grandmother's stories, and kindergarten poems leave the memorable imprint on the childВ’s soul and introduce the child to the world of national spirit. Everything that was absorbed by children's mind gets a response from the adult in the relation to the surrounding world. The patriotism is characterized by the attitude towards people, culture, language, the nature, and the home ground. The research objective is to define the role of literature in patriotic education of senior preschool children in the multicultural region. To achieve a goal the review of academic literature on the research subject was performed, the levels of knowledge formation on the native land among children of preschool age were revealed, the pedagogical experiment was conducted and the analysis of results was carried out. Theoretical and empirical research methods, such as, the review of psychological and pedagogical literature, the review of normative and legal documents, observation, comparison, pedagogical experiment were applied in the research. The data obtained during the participation of 46 children of the senior group of the preschool educational organization of Yakutsk served as the study material. In the kindergarten the special developing environment was created for the senior preschool children of the multicultural region. The experiment was realized in the senior group of Yakutsk kindergarten during the period from September, 2016 to February, 2017. The research showed that the means of literature has successfully increased the level of the development of patriotic consciousness among children of the senior preschool age. The understanding of the national peculiarities, the pride, and the respect for the fellow countrymen were formed in the community of senior preschool children. The research prospects the authors see in the further enrichment of the content of educational activities for patriotic education of senior preschool children.
