STUDENTS ACTIVITY IN THE FIELD OF NETWORK INTERACTION BETWEEN UNIVERSITIES, CULTURE AND SOCIAL ASSOCIATIONS

Abstract

The research results of different types of studentsВ’ social activity in the biggest universities of the Ural Federal District are presented in this report. Higher education system in Russia is reformed strictly in accordance with global trends. The ethos of economic efficiency, accountability, standards, productivity, profitability and ubiquitous managerialism dominates in the educational management. Thus, universities are beginning to transform and gradually turn into trans-object industries, which interact with different institutions such as culture associations, social NPOs and NGOs. Such network interaction contributes to the emergence of various educational, cultural and social projects which solve educational and informational tasks. In addition, such practices are directed towards creation of universityВ’s image, they are used as elements of brand promotion strategy of educational institutions. The network interaction between universities, cultural and social associations increases economic and symbolic benefits of each organization involved in this interaction. In the space of universities a structure is built for the implementation of various types of social, cultural and educational activities into which students can be involved. Based on the application of correlation analysis, the report gives an assessment of students with different backgrounds of their educational and socio-cultural activity. The authors argue that the specifics of these youth groups inclusion in different types of social activity depends not only on their personal interests and motivation, but also on the structure of interaction between universities, different NPOs and associations. The university environment becomes extremely variable and multifaceted in this context. Ural universities create opportunities for the studentsВ’ self-realization and the organization of their leisure.
