TERRITORIAL FEATURES OF CONTEMPORARY DEMOGRAPHIC PROCESSES OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Abstract
The article discusses the regional characteristics of the demographic processes of Russian Federation. The causal relationships between socio-economic factors and demographic indicators in the context of the subjects of the Russian Federation are disclosed. The theoretical justification of the study was the concept of a geodemographic situation. The concept of geodemographic situation allows to prove the need of movement from quantitative indicators of evaluation to qualitative characteristics and indicators of the formation of the demographic situation. The methods of diagnosis and multivariate analysis of the regional geodemographic situation are presented for a number of key indicators The key indicators include both the traditional demographic (nature population growth rate, birth rate, death rate, total fertility rate, life expectancy, etc.), as socio-economic and behavioral indicators (urbanization rate, suicide mortality rate, divorce rate, incomes, etc.). The use of the graphoanalytical method for diagnosing the geodemographic situation allowed us to conduct a typology of the subjects of the Russian Federation. This typology can serve as a basis for substantiating regional social and demographic policies that take into account the territorial heterogeneity of socio-economic development.
