Abstract

Basics ability to exercise independent practice in physical education is put under formal practiced and then continue physical education content in non-formal and / or informal In the Anglo-Saxon literature, fitness is called “optimum physical conditioning”. Everybody is in search for “fitness”, as an element facilitating the increase of the quality of life. The research is based on the hypothesis that the involvement in a regular program of physical activities has a beneficial impact on the body, emphasized by effects on the functional levels and significantly improves the aerobic fitness. The subjects of our study, in number of 60 (30 in control group and 30 in experimental group) are freshman of the University of Bucharest aged 18-20 years who participated in aerobics class 2 hours per week. The experimental group participated in an independent additional program of physical activity to improve physical fitness 30 min / 3 times a week (jogging, aerobic dance, cycling). The study was conducted from October 2013 to May 2014 in three stages The methods we used were: bibliographical study, ameliorative type experiment, measuring and testing method, mathematical statistical method and graphical representation method; Assessment of aerobic capacity resulted in the following tests: determination of overall body resistance through test Cooper and determining physical condition through test Ruffier. Cooper test is the most significant educational objective functional aerobic capacity. Both groups have improved the outcome of a few percent, but the experimental group experienced an improvement of 16.52% compared to the control group, only 4.45%. Ruffier test – also used for the assessment of athletic shape (aerobic fitness); it highlights to the experimental group an average of 14,15 at initial testing, and an improvement of physical condition at final testing, with an average of 6,50 at final testing, compared to the control group where the average initial testing is 14.91 and 8.63 in final testing. Students were able to improve their physical condition, improvement that is seen in terms of the results of final testing. Self systematic pulse (in every lesson) was an objective evaluation criterion effects of efforts. We believe that programs developed and subjected to experimentation by specific exercises aimed at improving physical condition, have been effective.
