THE PLAYFUL STRATEGY OF DECISION-MAKING (INDIVIDUAL - ORGANIZATION - SOCIETY)
Abstract
This article is concerned with the “playful” strategy of decision-making developed by James G. March, which from his point of view is effective at all levels of human activities and can contribute to the transformation of the entire social structure of society. James G. March proposed the model of decision-making by individuals, organizations, social and cultural systems, which was based on the rejection of reasonable arguments in favor of sensible foolishness. The author demonstrates that the ideas of James G. March reflect the process of change in the vector of development of modern society and transition to a new postmodern epistemology. Weber's rational "society-iron cage" is replaced by the postmodern "society of the spectacle", that is a playful "entertainment society." Almost all spheres of human activity are subject to gamification and virtualization, and real life itself is becoming more and more game-like. As a result, the so-called "play turn" arises in modern social sciences, where "homo ludens" is considered as the basic model to describe human nature and behavior.\}, publisher = {STEF92 Technology}, address = {51 Alexander Malinov blvd, Sofia, 1712, Bulgaria}, type = {Proceedings Paper}, language = {English}, issn = {2367-5659}, isbn = {978-619-7408-65-2}, doi = {10.5593/sgemsocial2018/1.5/S05.139}, url = {https://www.sgemsocial.org/index.php/jresearch-article?citekey=Kalashnikova2018511231128}, keywords = {rationality, decision-making, "playful" strategy, "playful" society, play turn}, volume = {18}, number = {1.5},
