Abstract

The Transport Policy of the Czech Republic for 2014–2020 with the Prospect of 2050 is a top strategic document of the Czech Government for the transport sector following the strategic documents of the European Union. The document identifies the main problems of the sector and proposes measures to solve them. These measures cause risk, which management must take account in the transport companies' activities. The aim of this paper is to present the methodology which the management of transport companies can use to monitoring and taking into consideration of risks arising from the implementation of measures transportation policy, determining their probability of occurrence and economic impact on business activity. In the article, qualitative and quantitative methods for risk analysis were used. Data was obtained from research taken from selected transport companies in the Czech Republic. The research was focused on the selected measures consequences of the transportation policy affecting economic results of enterprises. The research showed that the transport companies must take into account the risks from transportation policy measures, because it can significantly affect the financial stability of the company. The mentioned procedure of risk analysis enables to improve the quality of management decisions in terms of risk identification, risk significance and approach to risk. Moreover, it can also prepare management of transport companies for changes, especially for changes arising from the strategic plans of the Government in the enterprise environment. This procedure gives information about the types of risk which are non-suggestible (therefore, it is necessary to include them in strategic planning), and the risks which are suggestible (so, it is advisable to prepare the appropriate measures to eliminate their impact).
