STUDYING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE VIEWS OF ADOLESCENTS ABOUT GOD AND THE FACTORS THAT SHAPE THEIR RELIGIOSITY

Abstract

Religion and religious environment are the factors that affect the development and psychological status of a person. It is important for adolescents, who are sensitive to changes in the environment. The purpose of the study is to highlight the factors shaping the religiosity of adolescents and their idea of God. The degree of religiosity of adolescents were studied using a questionnaire of Professor C.A. Lewis. Correlations were analyzed by Pearson product-moment correlation. Sample was composed by 320 adolescents from families of Orthodox confession. Correlation analysis by Pearson quotient showed the highest correlation between the factor "Mother influenced my views on the religion" characteristic of the religiosity. The smallest correlation is represented by the factor "the Internet has affected my views on religion". The study showed the existence of a relationship between beliefs about God and the factors that shape religion. God as "required", "loving", "forgiving" is correlated with the factor "Mother influenced my views on religion". Analysis of the results shows that communication with parents' religious forms helps the religious teenager to develop a sense of community and security and reduces the risk of psychological problems. The absence of correlation with the influence of parents on the development of adolescent religiosity indicates a lack of intimacy in communicating with parents. The relationship with parents in the future are projected onto the representation of God as accepting, forgiving, loving, demanding. Only positive emotional attitude of a teenager with parents shape the religious and positive idea of God.
