Abstract

Human development was permanently conditioned and obtained through physical motion. The physical state together with the cardiorespiratory fitness state highlight the development of the physical capacity of the human being. The explosive force (expansion/détente) is a basic parameter, which lays emphasis on the physical fitness level. This study aims to make a comparative analysis of the explosive force measurement on the inferior limbs using as measurement instrument two modern devices: the Myotest Pro and OptoJump system. Myotest Pro not only calculates and measures muscle performance but it is a tool for improvement and analysis with the purpose is to optimize sportive performance. Vertical Jump is one of the most used tests employed by both coaches and researchers to assess physical capacity by indirectly measuring the maximum strength of the lower limbs in different sex and age populations [1]. There are published studies showing that this test is relevant in many sports such as basketball, rugby, athletics, volleyball, in which Vertical Jump is an important method of assessing and predicting sportive performance. This paper aims to highlight the reliability of the modern methods in measuring the explosive force. The modern methods of measurement by means of the devices used, provide a great fidelity of the measured parameters, these bringing precise and accurate information on the performances recorded through the tests. The subjects of the study are the male and female students from the University “Politehnica” of Bucharest randomly selected aged 20-29.The study was conducted between 10.10.2016 - 18.12.2016. As a result of the analysis and the correlation of the recorded parameters between the two modern methods of measuring the explosive force of the lower limbs, Myotest Pro and Optojump System, we have been found that there is not a significant difference between the two measurements.
