EGALITARIANISM AND ELITISM IN THE CONTEXT OF THE JUSTICE PROBLEM

Abstract

The age-old dispute between supporters of egalitarian and elitist paradigms has lasted for many centuries, both within the framework of political philosophy and in the depths of socio-political doctrines. One of the stumbling blocks to this discourse is the problem of justice. Each side offers its own vision of this key segment of their system and tries to convince everyone of the historical validity of its ideological position. Such a confrontation led to serious socio-political conflicts, with uncountable casualties and numerous material losses in the twentieth century. The feature of the modern stage of their ideological confrontation is that it took place against the backdrop of postmodernism, multiculturalism, globalism and the growth of postindustrial tendencies in the information society. There is a need for correction of egalitarian and elitist paradigms, and their new reading. In this paper, we intend to consider the key moments of this ideological confrontation and how it affects the worldview of contemporary Russian youth.
