DIVERSIFICATION OF FOREIGN TRADE IN CANADA

Abstract

For a long period of time, the main trading partners of Canada are the United States and Mexico under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). But in recent years, Canada has significantly expanded its trade cooperation not only with the countries of the European Union (EU), but also with other states, for example, with China, Japan, South Korea and India. The article examines the dynamics of foreign trade turnover, exports and imports of Canada with major trading partners; countries that play the most important role in the development of Canada's foreign trade are identified. The commodity and regional structure and the ongoing structural shifts in the Canadian export and import of products with leading states were studied. An assessment is made of the degree of regional concentration of goods exported and imported by the country. Areas of Canada are selected, which actively carry out trade cooperation with various countries and their specialization. The main tendency of changes in the export of goods from Canada and the import of products into the country is determined. The forecast of the volume of exports and imports of the country by 2020 is calculated. The methodological basis of the research was the grouping method; structural and dynamic analysis; The method of analytical equalization of a number of dynamics along a linear function.
