POSSIBILITIES OF USING PUBLIC FINANCES FOR RAISING THE LEVEL OF CITIZENS SECURITY
Abstract
The aim of public authorities in managing public administration is to improve the quality of public administration subjects and public service activities to support socio-economic growth and increase the quality of citizensВ’ life. For this reason, public authorities must make efficient use of available funds. Effective management of public finances will ensure optimal functioning of all socially important public sector functions related to the peoplesВ’ life and whole society, such as education, health care, social care and security system. One of the key areas that currently affects the quality of citizensВ’ life is security. The process of globalization, as well as technical and technological progress, has brought about the emergence of new security threats in addition to raising the standard of living of the population. That is why protection of life, health, property and the environment is becoming one of the priorities of the public administration of each state. The aim of the paper is to analyse the use of public finances by public authorities with a focus on increasing the level of citizens' security. Contribution results can be used by state authorities and other public authorities in the budgetary process with an emphasis on the protection of persons and property.
