Abstract

The requests which are imposed to handball players and teams at this moment are of the highest level in matter of technical-tactical content, related with a superior physical and psychological particularities of each player. Trends and characteristics of modern handball are shaped based on the handball played by best teams in the national, European or World championships. The aim of this research is to analyze the performance of the best 4 teams qualified in the final tournament organized by the European Federation for the Champions League trophy. The interpretation of data collected led to the fact that handball game’s trends are the visible growth of the game’s tempo, discipline in building the offence actions, and aggressiveness and offensiveness in the defense.
