CONCERNING HISTORICAL PERIODIZATION OF METALLURGY OF THE URAL

Abstract

It is interesting to follow the process of modernization in industrial metallurgy of the Ural and how it has been realized for three hundred years of its existence and what characteristic features it has had in each period of its development. However, until recently, there was no common, scientifically accepted historical periodization of the metallurgy industry in the Urals, although a number of authors considered the problem. To the authors questions of the periodization of the history of metallurgy in the Urals were studied by such historians as Strumilin and Gorshkov. However, their periodization concerned only some of the stages in the development of the metallurgy industry in the region. Professor V.Zapariy – the author of these lines, guided by the experience of predecessors, has tried to determine periodization in the industry of the metallurgical industry’s development during its three hundred years of existence. The first variant of this periodization was published on the pages of “Steel” journal in 2001 in the days of celebrating the 300th anniversary of the Ural metallurgy. For the period of three hundred years the authors singulate 20 periods in the development of the Urals metallurgy. The article gives a detailed description of the economic content of these periods.
