Abstract

The study has an analytical-interpretative character and brings a partial research probe of the artistic depiction of the Holocaust theme. It deals with the ways of dramatizing the most authentic and most often translated book on the topic of the Holocaust The Diary of Anne Frank. In the study we describe on the basis of theatrological and literary-scientific research actual forms of artistic interpretation of Anne Frank’s Diary in a contemporary Slovak theatre. We focus on interpretation of a classical drama theatre performance at the Jozef Gregor Tajovsky Theatre in Zvolen (dramatization and directed by Julia Razusova, nominated for the prestigious “DOSKY” award, which is bestowed in Slovakia for the best productions of the season). We focus on the analysis, interpretation and comparison of the theatrical dramatizations of the epic model, which has been transposed into dramatic genre.
