PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF INTERNET-ADDICTS
Abstract
This article is devoted to the study of the results of empirical data considering young people who actively communicate using computer technologies and the Internet. There were applied methods of studying Internet addiction. Internet addiction is a modern problem caused by an easy access to computers and information on the Internet. Some types of disorders may develop within people who are addicted to the Internet. As a number of psychological researches indicate, the Internet often attracts people who are not satisfied with themselves, with low self-esteem, unable in real life to build or maintain harmonious relationships with others. The characteristic features of Internet addiction are determined: long-term use of the Internet with disregard of basic human needs; unavailability of the Internet/computer accompanied by anger, depression; the desire to possess the best computer equipment in any way; external and internal changes available to active Internet users.
