ACTIVE AGEING OF SENIOR CITIZENS AND NATIONAL STRATEGY OF SLOVAKIA
Abstract
Senior citizens and active ageing are one of the most important issue in a modern contemporary society. Slovak republic takes a stand through documents and strategies adopted by means of its executive power in cooperation with experts in this area. The main aim of this paper is to call attention to the active ageing of senior citizens in Slovakia and to its enshrinement in the applicable strategic documents. The methodological framework will include theoretical determination of the issue by using analysis and synthesis of available literature sources, and analysis of relevant document from within the EU and Slovakia.
