SOCIAL ENTERPRISE MODELS IN VIETNAM
Abstract
enterprises have recently been attracting attention and participation of various stakeholders in the country. The combined efforts and engagement create an emerging multi-stakeholder ecosystem that constitutes a supportive environment for the development of social enterprise in Vietnam. Investigating the models of Vietnamese social enterprises is important to understand their nature development and shape supporting policies for further development. In this paper, four broad models of social enterprise that can be found throughout Vietnam are reviewed (i) cooperative model; (ii) social business model; (iii) entrepreneurial non-profit model and (iv)inclusive business model. For each model, distinctive features namely social mission, finance and governance of social enterprise models are discussed.
