Abstract

The relationship between philosophy and history covers many topics and their overlapping results in numerous ideas. Surely, it is also due to the fact that philosophy does not repudiate the methods it uses as obsolete. In connection with the history of philosophy it is thus not possible to speak of theories which lost their validity long time ago. Various streams of thought which, in various ways, react to their predecessors were the inhibitors as well as reflections of contemporary historical events. As a result, it is possible to observe certain affinity of topics both disciplines deal with. The history of philosophy as taught at grammar schools includes some topics which correlate with topics of grammar school history lessons. Originating of ancient Greek philosophy must be discussed within its historical context. Without doubt, the development in the spiritual sphere accelerated also due to the above-mentioned influences. New deities weakened the relatively strong life philosophies. They brought new mysteries and new perspectives regarding afterlife. New deities in the original Pantheon meant also new relationships and they led to changing of some fundamental beliefs. Further discrepancies between deep-rooted beliefs and new ideas, namely the impossibility of returning from the beyond and distortion of the original picture, forced the then people to think and this shifts the mythical and poetic experience towards the logo.
