Abstract

In the clinical and technical stages for the manufacture of fixed mixed prostheses, the metal frame analysis represents a relevant process. The professional communication among the main professional actors is a technical act of horizontal communication supported by the theoretical notions of both partners and exemplified strictly on the working model / dental abutment and metallic frame. The study material is the analysis of a number of 50 metallic elements representing the metal structure of fixed mixed prosthesis studied within the discipline of Fixed Prostheses at Ovidius University Constanta, but also within CorinaDent Private Laboratory. The materials used are gypsums for working patterns, waxes for pattern modeling, retentions chosen according to the technical situation, metal frames. The analysis of the metal frame in the mixed fixed prostheses considers the following stages: the indirect laboratory stage (technical) and the direct dental office stage. Method: The first analysis of the metallic elements was done in the dental laboratory with a microscope or special magnifiers after the casting and cooling stages of the metal alloy. The communication between dentist and dental technician is based both on main theoretical elements and technical and clinical directions (either direct or indirect).
