POVERTY IN SOCIAL INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM

Abstract

The poverty as a social problem in post-communist countries began to be an important issue in social and economic sciences at the beginning of the nineties. In the Czech Republic, the poverty is a social problem, which includes both types of polarizing poverty - objective poverty (mostly income poverty) and subjective (emotional or situational poverty). Both types embody their possible consequence – a multidimensional deprivation (Sirovátka, Mares, Ve?erník, Green, 2002). Deprivation in the context of our project means a limited opportunity to achieve the living standard, respectively, to reach the average standard of living in the Czech Republic within potential threats of social marginalization or social exclusion. The research team intends to find out the level of threats by analysis of life situations, as well as by explanation of the experience in subjective poverty by qualified theologians and social workers. Nowadays, there is not any science project or current research focused on the above-mentioned areas - research on phenomenon of poverty in the population of young adults (students and graduates of the universities of humanities). In addition, a research aimed at analysis of emotional poverty in the context of training theologians, social workers or research focused on the threads of poverty and ways of coping with poverty in this specific a group - young adults do not exist in the scientific work these days. (KRAHULCOVA, 2010)[3] The boundaries between poverty and risk of poverty are described as very thin and variable in running time.
