GREEN ROOF AND LIVING WALL AS A TOOL FOR SOLVING AESTHETIC APPEARANCE AND MODERN CITY DESIGN
Abstract
If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don't hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed. Still life has some possibility left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happened better than all the riches or power in the world. It could be anything, but very likely you notice it in the instant when love begins. Anyway, that's often the case. Anyway, whatever it is, don't be afraid of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb.” (Mary Oliver). Urban places such as empty facades and roofs in the city are very challenging places. Lofty idea of potential acres of green spaces that lie above our cities. Roofs as lifeless place of bituminous surface, violent temperatures contrasts, bitter wind and antipathy to water. Change happens when there is an unexpected green grass and blooming flower in front of us. The goal of this article is pointing out the importance of aesthetic appearance of the nature in modern city. Creating new ecozones, natural surfaces, improving quality of everyday life in the city, protecting nature and falling in love with instant wildness. Aim of this article is to show green roofs and living walls have positive impact on surrounding environment and people living in it.
