THE DEVELOPMENT OF E-ACCESSIBILITY IN SLOVAK PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION FOR PERSONS WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the various aspects of the development of e-accessibility of public administration web portals for people with visual impairments in 2008 - 2013. During the six years we have tested a total of 822 web portals, including more than 150 portals that were evaluated at least 2 times. We found, that despite the overall improvement in the rating of accessibility of public administration, the development is in fact, stagnant. From the repeatedly evaluated portals, 41% had lower level of accessibility for visually impaired users in the year 2013 compared to 2011.
