Abstract

This paper is focused on a new way of stimulating the elderly people. The authors focused on the use of Entertaining Exercises for Developing Reading Skills to stimulate the eye movements, phonemic perception and short-term memory in a group of elderly clients. This Exercises has been created on the base of Eye Movements Test – T 256. [8]. The text obtains a short explanation of Eye Movements Test which was the basis of these Exercises. Based on an investigation it was found that these Exercises are not only suitable for the development of reading skills for dyslexics and beginning readers, but can also be applied for seniors. Authors tried to summarize the obtained experiences that could serve as an inspiration for nontraditional work with the elderly people. They decided to present how these exercises work and inform readers about the results of their investigation.
