HUMAN HEALTH RISK CAUSED BY COMMON SOURCES OF IONIZING RADIATION
Abstract
The effects of ionizing radiation on the basis of cellular losses of radiation to the body can cause disease changes of various kinds, which can manifest themselves over several days, weeks, and others over the years to decades. From the point of view of an integrated organism, the effects of ionizing radiation extinguish deterministic effects, where the effect occurs naturally after reaching a certain radiation dose and stochastic effects, where the probability of damage increases as the radiation dose increases. The paper introduces all the common natural and artificial sources of radioactive radiation. The focus is on factors influencing the effect of radiation on living systems, acute radiation and later post- radiation syndromes described, as well as the acute radiation sickness. Both deterministic and stochastic effects of radiation in relevance to human health described together with cellular deformation originated in the radioactive affection. Neurovascular, haematological, gastrointestinal, toxemic and cardiovascular systems suffer as the result of high radiation dozes. DNA deformation cause genetic defects for generations.
